World Class Kids is established to provide quality educational care for children 18 months to 5 years using the principles of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.
We strive to instill in each child a desire for lifelong learning by encouraging growth through curiosity and wonder. We recognize that each child is rich in potential with a unique pattern of interests, capabilities and aspirations. Children are seen as competent and capable members of the learning community.
Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care for children to create a sense of belonging and well-being, providing inclusive learning environments and experiences that encourage exploration, indoor play, outdoor play for 2 hours (am + pm) and inquiry. We also follow nutritional fresh cooked meals on our menu at both snack times and lunch. At last, we have rest and quiet time throughout the day. The program is in full compliance with Early Years and Child Act (2014).
The program nurtures learning and development by establishing positive relationships and experiences that promote each child's social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our staff recognizes the importance of growth in developmental areas; therefore, they co-explore the learning experience with the children. The program is based on child-initiated and adult-supported experiences. Children will be given opportunities to self-regulate and explore their interests and engage in activities and projects allowing staff to support connections in learning. They use the children's own theories, help them identify new ways in learning and are keen observers and documenters. Children's learning will be visible throughout the classroom in the form of documentation of their work, thoughts and experiences. Our program supports staff in improving and developing teaching practices by attending developmental workshops as well as participating in ongoing reflection and evaluation.
Interactive Smart Bards are strategically situated in the toddler classrooms for limited exposure of touch and sound. This wireless technology allows for more interactive learning. Smart boards will enhance your child's creativity and will be used to help engage your child's imagination and creativity in real-time.
Parents are encouraged to participate whenever possible in the activities at the centre. Parents may wish to attend fieldtrips, class parties, or simply stop in to join the daily fun! Parents are encouraged to increase communication with ECE teachers, as it will help in nurturing your child's well-being. ECE/ Teachers are always available to discuss your child's progress or needs at any time. Informal talks are encouraged to help the progress of the child. However, due to staff responsibilities and schedules, parents are asked to make appointments with staff when it is necessary to engage formal talks. Formal conversations help teachers to focus on parents and child more effectively in order to meet all of your child's needs. In order to increase communication between the staff and the parent, we will provide daily updates on your child's progress in their agenda. The parents can write back in their agenda any special concerns or requests for the day.
Volunteers and placement students are great helpers and supporters in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the kids at World Class Kids. Volunteers are essential and vital in helping us achieve our goal and mission statement.
